Tight Line Anglers has lost its heartbeat with the passing of Chuck Lorimer on March 14th, 2026. A premier figure in the Los Barriles community, Chuck defined fly fishing on the East Cape, chasing roosterfish from the sand and marlin from the blue. He didn't just run a guide service; he shared his soul with every angler, tailoring every sunrise to the dreams of those holding the rod.
 

Chuck was a man whose history in these waters stretched back to the late 90s. His deep local knowledge was matched only by a calm leadership that turned every choppy sea into a masterclass. Chuck’s obsession wasn't just with the catch, but with the "perfect cast" and a profound respect for the Baja ecosystem. He was a trusted mentor who ensured every outing was a memory etched in salt and sand.
 

Chuck did more than guide—he welcomed us home. From arranging travel and lodging to sharing the hidden secrets of the local scene, he was our ultimate gateway to the Baja experience. He taught us all to fish it the way it was meant to be done, with passion and grit. While the waters of the East Cape feel a bit quieter today, his legacy remains in every tight line and every silver flash off the beach.
